... Freezing Rain Advisory now in effect until 2 am EST Tuesday...

The Freezing Rain Advisory is now in effect until 2 am EST
Tuesday.

Hazardous weather...

* freezing rain will develop late this morning and will continue
   into this afternoon and evening with temperatures just below
   32 degrees.

* Brief mixture of sleet and snow is possible through the
   afternoon... but little if any accumulation.

* Temperatures will rise above 32 degrees shortly after
   midnight... allowing for a changeover to a cold rain.

Impacts...

* ice accumulation of a tenth to two tenths of an inch
   expected... mainly on elevated surfaces.

* Icy roads... mainly secondary and untreated roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
Sidewalks and driveways will also be icy... use caution while
walking.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed. Visit

   the M 59 and I 69 corridors during the early afternoon.

* Southeast winds around 5 mph.

* Air temperatures will range between 28 and 32 degrees.

Impacts...

* light icing may lead to hazardous conditions particularly on
   bridges, exit ramps, overpasses and untreated roads


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* motorists are urged to use caution and account for variable
   driving conditions by slowing down and allowing extra time.

* Prepare... plan and stay informed.
