Thanks. Yes it is sad to go through that area. The first level of those homes were built to let the water rise without damaging anything but reports are that the water hit the 10 foot level there.
The marsh use to protect the area from some flooding but with the erosion of those areas each future storm will do more damage.

Charlotte, This is so sad & Heart breaking to look at these photos. Your photos very well describe the sad situation so many people are faced with. I can only imagine the stench of the decaying animals, and hope they are soon cleared out of there.
Thank you for taking the time to get and post these photos.
Congrats on the VIP designation.

Oh dear, this is awful!

Yes I have heard that the wetlands that used to protect the delta areas from storm surges is quickly disappearing...

What a shame... Mother Nature taking its course. Maybe rebuilding shouldn't occur in the same place anymore. I would gather that it is a tough decision to make... to lose all your household belongings over and over again... or to pick up and move elsewhere. Hopefully, flood insurance will cover all this damage.

Thanks for stopping by all. There are some that are leaving, even in our area I see a few more for sale signs up.

I'm not sure I could be brave enough to
endure what these folks have had to put
up with.

I don't know what I would do under the
same circumstances.

My best hopes for a brighter future for them.
