I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I really love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Budsgirl I have been hearing about the horrific flooding in Seward! A state of emergency declared, rushing water coursing down the mountains, smashing and tearing out roads, trees...
You'd not likely hear about this in the Lower 48, though you might hear about the wild storm in the Anchorage and more populated area.

Thank you Julia, we are just fine. My place, some 8 miles away, is completely untouched. I was totally unaware of this until I went to the grocery store and heard the local 'talk.'
Blowing again down here today and last I looked 61 degrees.
Craziest stuff I have seen in 47 years.
