Lately whenever Anchorage is getting hammered by these unusually hard, unusually early winter storms, we show these beautiful orographic formations in the sky. Created by windy conditions over the Mentasta Mountains, we have been seeing the edge of their powerful storm systems here in Tok. Hang in there Anchorage!

I get a thrill when I see clouds like this, so I have to remind myself that it is an indication of pretty rough weather for folks south of me.
