this was taken from our road yesterday, today everything is obscured by smoke - no pics just very eerie out - hard on the eyes and lungs :( we are surrounded by fires - not all as big as this one, but they're all growing - none are contained more than 10% if that. because structures are far and few between up here, they're not able to fight as aggressively as in other places - also, canyons are exceedingly tough to manage - we're not threatened in our location, just troubled with the smoke.

We are getting some smoke drifting in from
the Happy Camp fires. We at least 50 miles
from the Oregon/California border. No threat,
just the smoke as you say.

These fires are horrible - stay safe and stay indoors so as not to impair your health !

I think it varies from region to region - and they waiver on it - right or wrong. Sure don't think it is the thing to do in heavy timber.
