Looks pretty similar to the horned tomato worms that sneak up on my 4 potted tomato plants each spring. It's amazing how quickly a few of these creatures can take those plants to the ground. Amazing--and extremely discouraging after you've carefully nursed the plants to maturity during the Spring months.
Nice series from your garden. Crisp and clear, as always.

Sevin powder does wonders to protect tomato plants from these voracious caterpillars. Great series, James!

he is a good-looking Robin Hood ;-) caterpillars have done minimal damage to my tomato plants, but something is chomping my best tomatoes. I guess the critters are hungry and thirsty this summer.
great series, James! Congrats on your AC!

About gardner48197
gardner48197 4/2013: Greetings from Michigan, where we get a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! I originally found this site for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon L120/P520, which has helped photography become my favorite hobby! I have always loved the outdoors, and now I have a perfect excuse to get out and explore nature! What a great community here, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
