Went out this morning to pick some Wild Black Raspberries, and it was good timing! They were booming, after yesterdays storms. We are expecting a record high today, it is already 91 outside!

They look so tasty, James! We have cultivated red raspberries and both wild and cultivated blackberries, but black raspberries for some reason do not do well here; they do all right for a while, but then they get some kind of virus from the wild ones and it shrivels up the berries until they are not worth gathering. Been a long time since I've had black raspberries!

Thank you so much for commenting, Kathy!! I notice some bushes do that in the wild, too. They are one of my favorites, too!!

These look so delicious, especially if they were on some vanilla bean ice cream. It's a hot one here in Central PA. 92 degrees out, with a heat index of 95. What a scorcher!!!

About gardner48197
gardner48197 4/2013: Greetings from Michigan, where we get a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! I originally found this site for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon L120/P520, which has helped photography become my favorite hobby! I have always loved the outdoors, and now I have a perfect excuse to get out and explore nature! What a great community here, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
