This looks to me like Salsify or oysterplant, so named because the roots are edible. They have a large, dandelion-like seedhead but are altogether a taller plant. If I could see the leaves I could be sure, but salsify is often mistaken for dandelions on steroids.

I didn't realize when I made the photo it was not a dandelion. I just thought it was another kind than the usual darker ones. I've been back on that road about everyday, and have not found another one. Nor the other little flower with the leaves like hemp, but I did find out that it is a Cinquefoil but I'm not sure which one. It looks more like a Canadian Dwarf to me but I'm not sure they come this far east.

About KittenEileen
KittenEileen Living in upstate SC is quite a delight. I've lived here all my life except for about 18 months. I have the privilege of rearing my 14 year old grandniece. I love teaching her all the things I taught my two sons. Painting with oils and watercolors are a couple of hobbies I have as well as photography. I love my animals and would love living the bucolic life if I could but this is about as close here as I will ever come. I so enjoy seeing all the photos from all around this wonderful world of ours. Keep posting so this little old southern grandmother can appreciate all God Created.
