It came to me as I was remembering my wonderful
Dad.

For My Dad

You gave me someone to look up to.
You gave me values, taught wrong from right.
You were a little girl's hero, strong and brave,
Who made me feel safe in the dark of night.
You gave me advice, but let me falter
And let me make my own mistakes,
Then guided me on how to fix them,
And gave me the courage that it takes.
The day came when I went off on my own,
With hope (and a little panic attack)
But I made my way without too much worry..
I knew you'd always have my back.
When Mama died, my heart was broken.
It hurts when Life as you know it ends,
But even that had a silver lining,
Because you and I became good friends.
I loved the times we spent together
During your last years on Earth...
The talks, the laughs, the trips, the music...
I can't tell you how much those years were worth.
Now thinking about you makes me so happy,
And thinking about you makes me so sad,
And I'm sure I'm the luckiest one on the planet,
Because I had you for my Dad!

Thank You, Dad! I miss you! I love you!
