Terrible!!! And now one in Crockett, on top of the one in north tx. So sad to see my home state in such a terrible drought while we get 13-15 inches in southern Louisiana.

Thank you all for your comments! This fire is the largest in the state right now. And the worst part is that it's near populated areas. I have some friends and co-workers who live here. From what I know, all are safe!

Thanks again for your comments. Charlotte and Barna we would LOVE to take your extra rain! All of Texas is so very dry. I see from the TX Forest Service that there are still about 60 active fires burning now. Mother Nature can be so cruel....

I cant believe that people still dont get it. We are in severe drought conditions and any kind of outdoor fire or careless flick of a cigarrette bud can have these results. PLEASE PEOPLE "THINK"

Awsome job on the photos. News this morning says that some progress is being made by the fire fighters. Prayers are with all that have been impacted. Special thanks to all who are working to stop this monster.

Incredible image! I heard too that progress has been made but that 1,000 homes have been lost. My prayers go out to those who have been caught in this disaster!

About CenTexWeatherGal
CenTexWeatherGal Hi or Howdy! My name is Debbie. I've been a member of Wunderground for several years now. As my handle suggests, I'm a novice weather nut. I get it from my mom. :) Anyhow, I've always loved the very complete weather data found here ... from radar, to data, to blogs, etc. This is the best weather web site out there.I have a Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2 personal weather station which sends data to WU every few seconds. And I have my own weather web site as well (go to website link below).I've always admired the photos here. Recently, I bought myself a new camera. So, please critique my photos and tell me how I can improve. Thank you!
