Hi Vogel. that is a giant Russian. They grow over l0 ft tall and have dinner plate sized flowers. I put some of those in again at the back of the garage this year along with some regular ones and they are almost to the peak of the roof. The birds and seed eating animals like squirrels, skunks etc are having a feast. Even the field mice are filling their larders for winter. I had a couple of plants in my front bed here by my office window and every day a little gold finch and his mate would come and feed just outside my window. I took it out last week to let it dry so I could save some seeds from it and the little finch has been coming and scolding me for taking it away..LOL You have to love Mother Nature's littlest ones. They sure can put up a fuss...

You can get some of the giant Russians at any seed store in the spring. They can be top heavy so make sure you plant them where they will have some protection from the winds but still get plenty of sunlight. Come fall if they have not toppled over, you will need an axe to cut the stems. No kidding they are like tree trunks...LOL

I meant to tell you the bronze one with the black centre and lighter gold outer rim is the AZTEC QUEEN. Not as big a flower as the Russian but a real beauty in its own right.

Have fun and good luck growing them. They certainly are worth having in your garden.

That is called Aztec Queen. Yes they are pretty and grow well in Zone 6. They make quite a show when put in with the big Giants...
