In my few years documenting thunderstorms, this severe warned storm over Deland, FL was as close to a classic looking supercell as I have seen here. Thursday May 17, 2012

Steptoe butte WashingtonI have always wanted to see the Palouse in person. Images I have seen remind me of a Robert Lewis Stevenson poem of my childhood, Land of Counterpane. Garth Books illustrated a version in The Tall Book of Make-believe and this real place is almost looks much like that illustration.
