Two weather features will merge over Europe on Saturday, bringing active weather to most of the continent. A trough of low pressure centered over northern Italy will advance eastward towards Romania throughout the day. Flow around this system will pull moisture northward from the Mediterranean Sea, allowing for widespread moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms to develop from Italy through Hungary and Romania. Rome will be partly cloudy with a chance of rain and highs in the upper 60s(F)/ near 20(C). At the same time to the north, an area of low pressure centered over Lithuania will advance northwestward throughout the day, moving into northern Germany by Saturday night. This system will create a frontal boundary that will push moisture onshore from the North Sea, triggering scattered showers with possibly some isolated thunderstorms. Strongest storms with heavy rainfall are most likely over northeastern Germany and northwestern Poland. Munich will be overcast and rainy with highs in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C).

There is a slight chance that moisture from these systems combining will reach into western and central France. Thus, there is a chance of showers in Paris with highs remaining near 60(F)/ 16(C). London will remain dry with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C). High pressure building over the Iberian Peninsula will maintain dry and sunny conditions across Spain and Portugal.
