Weather Underground Forecast for Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

Low pressure will remain in place across the western half of Europe on Tuesday keeping cloudy skies in place throughout the region. Precipitation is also expected to linger across the Iberian Peninsula and around the Mediterranean rim. Precipitation will also spread inland throughout France, reaching nearly to the northern coast of the nation.

Some of the heaviest rain in the region will fall over the Italian Peninsula where thunderstorms are expected to develop, and more than an inch of rain is anticipated.

The United Kingdom will escape the cloud cover on Tuesday and clear skies should spread across the nation. High temperatures in London are expected to rise into the mid-70s(F)/ mid-20s (C). Dublin will also see some sun on Tuesday, and temperatures will rise into the mid- to upper 60s(F)/ upper 10s(C).

High pressure over the North Sea and Scandinavian Peninula will keep the eastern half of the continent largely dry on Tuesday. A few thunderstorms and showers will develop over Ukraine and Romania, but should be widely scattered. Temperatures in the east will be cool, Highs in Odessa will reach into the low 60s(F)/ mid-10s(C), Warsaw will be a bit warmer with temperatures in the low 70s(F)/ low 20s(C).

Did you know that...

A couple incredible hail facts occurred on this date. First, in 1975, hail the size of tennis balls amassed to a depth of 10 inches in Wernersville, Penn. Also, in 1930, a farmer was killed in a hailstorm near Lubbock, Texas accounting for the only official United States death due to hail.
