Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, February 15, 2012. More cold, wet weather is expected for the continent Wednesday, adding to what has turned out to be a miserably cold last few weeks. A new storm will drive through the heart of the continent, ending the day stretched from eastern France through Poland and Hungary. This storm will produce heavy, widespread snow in the cold air already entrenched over the continent, adding to the misery of the residents in a region hammered by frigid temperatures. Adding to the weather effects will be the wind that will whip through a large portion of the continent from Sweden through Hungary and the Alps.

The far western portion of the continent from the United Kingdom through Spain will escape the truly frigid temperatures, but even these areas will remain well below normal.

Only isolated snow showers are likely in Italy, but a mixture of rain and snow will fall farther to the east through Greece and Turkey.

The potentially good news is that the frigid air that has remained over the continent for quite some time will finally moderate the next few days, leading to slightly warmer temperatures.

All-in-all, however, the cold Winter will continue for the continent.

London will rise into the mid-40s(F)/upper 0s(C), while Paris will see temperatures in the mid-40s(F)/upper 0s(C). Moscow will rise into the upper 0s(F)/lower -10s(C).
