Tiny Bubbles

So most folks made their way home last night but there were about four + a dog that stayed over. Only had one we had to tie down and she complained that her glasses were a bit scrunched since apparently she slept in her clothes and did not take the glasses off. Oh yeah: The couple that brought the Festool saw slept comfortably in their motor home.
We got up and made some coffee (sort of) and Tloml made some bubbles which are always a decent punctuation for one of these events.

Came here looking for champagne, and found...Soap Bubbles! That's cool though. Bubbles are great fun for small children and still cool to look at for adults. Have a jumbo bottle of bubble soap in the workshop that I bought years ago to use for checking hoses and fittings for leaks. Maybe I'll blow some bubbles later... Judging from this excerpt, I believe you are thinking David Duncan. Ensign Waters: I work with mathematical formulas, not soap film. When I compute the minimal path of a guided missile, I want to know what I'm doing! Sound familiar? Does slightly to me. Were it Robert Heinlein I'd remember for sure as he was always one of my very favorites, especially the stuff with Lazarus Long and the Howard Families. Went out on the deck and learned a couple things. Angie's cat, who fancies herself the great huntress, is freaked out by bubbles. I am not allowed to blow bubbles when Angie is watching. Good morning: This here retirement - I just received confirmation that my application for Old Age Pension has been approved - has been busier than my normal week end. The birthday gathering took longer to recover from and a good friend has been awarded the "Order of British Columbia" so we celebrated that event yesterday. One consequence of this activity, though, was the time to read the blogs, think of something to say and renew my membership here. Note to Admin: If I can find a credit card that is not maxed out I will renew today. Rob: Thank you for the David Duncan link. I think that is the story I was referring to. Seems to me the Bubble Machine in that little book allowed travel to or in other dimensions. Ylee: I haven't had time to keep up with the cams but I'll be there soon! Shoreacres: The photographer in that video seems to have overcome the difficulties that Ylee mentioned. Thank you for posting it here. We enjoyed a fellow who called himself "The Bubble Master" around for a while performing at Folk Festivals. Rob: I have had bubbles survive contact with surfaces that are wet with the soap solution. I'm trying to imagine how one could get into a bubble without first showering in the solution. Hey Rob: I had gotten into the habit of not logging out but what worried me was my status was "membership expired". Logged out and back in just now and I'm good to go for another year. The ads went somewhere - they don't bother me much anyway because I don't need a bikini. I gotta find "Occam's Razor" story before I jump through that Hula Hoop though. Ylee and Rob: I'm also having my doubts about this experiment. Mind you: if the Transfer was successful it might be an advantage to arrive wherever in 'suitable' armor and we don't know what outfit would be suitable so it might be best to travel light. Lessee: Towel, toilet paper, flashlight, matches, energy bars, foot leather, tobacco, rolling paper, passport, airline ticket, shampoo, vice grip, electricians tape, utility knife, pocket flask with at least 151, pipe wrench, butane torch, duct tape, angle grinder with both zipcut and sanding heads, battery powered impact driver and drill, at least two chainsaws and my favorite Milwaukee skill saw. : Ladders! : Rotohammers! : Slide-Compound Mitre saws! I need to do some planning here. Maybe we can just warp my loaded pickup through the bubble. I'd like to have Gunther along but his grandkids would miss him - 'spose mine would miss me too but someday they might appreciate this "Going Boldly". Continued: I'm trying to think of what items would be useful for a Space-Time jump or disaster survival - so far I think I can load everything in the 1/2 ton pickup but there won't be much room for the pets nor hitch-hikers.
