New Halloween Pic of the Grandkids
Posted by: seflagamma, 08:30 PM GMT del 25 Ottobre 2010 +0

And our Fire Index/Drought Maps are updating once again.

I agree with Bills, time to bring that scary looking "Dancing Baby" back so we can get some rain over Florida! And I guess since it is almost Halloween it would be appropriate! LOL

I found this old Graphic in a Halloween Blog from last year that BD made for me.. It is still so cute i will use it again this year!

Sunday, Oct 31, 2010: I got Halloween Pictures of the kids and grandkids.. will load them up tonight.

Monday, October 25, 2010: I finally got out and took some garden photos and will post them in this final blog for October. Between my side yard garden and my neighbor's back yard "Co-op" garden he and I are doing together, we are going to have a lot of veggies to share with the rest of our neighbors who do not garden.

I do realize I have typos in my discriptions of my photos and I mispelled "tomato" several times, I was in a hurry and had to do it quickly so no time for corrections.

It is gardening time in the sub-tropics!

Here are pics of Ellen from last year with her big 8 mo preggy belly I painted like a pumpkin.. now look, one year later she is CAT Woman! LOL See below)

and this is a close up of the big belly,
Our belly buttons when pregnant don't popout
they just smooth out and you cannot even tell it is there.

Now One Year Later, look below at Cat Woman! I remember when I use to be able to bounce back into shape like that!

Blooming Tomato (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. M y side yard garden.. here is one of my large tomato plants what is now blooming...

Blackberry vine is taking over (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010: that Blackberry vine I planted last winter started growning this past summer and is taking over the entire side and I keep pruning it back...hope it produces this year because it is high maintance and it will "go" if not. I do not do high maintance plants.

more potted herbs (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. my side yard garden.. more potted herbs. You can see sage, tropical oregano, sweet basil, chives, flat leaf parsley, dill, chives, rosemary...etc..

Avacoda Plant (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. Remember earlier this year when Aqua had us all saving our avacoda pits and rooting them for plants.. this is mine. I did have to take off about 1/2 of the top so it would branch out a few months ago. I is looking good. I am using it for a specimen plant, I will not put it in the ground.
Avacoda Plant
Datil Pepper Plant (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010, My Datil Pepper plant I have grown from the seeds Aqua and Rain sent me.. I did "pinch off the top" recently so it would branch out. Got more seeds to grow as I have pots to put them in.

My Neighbor & my Garden (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. My neighbor does not use his backyard and like me he wanted a garden... so we joined forces and created our first "co-op" garden and it is doing well.
My Neighbor & my Garden
Look at those volunteer tomatoes (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. I used my compost I made these past 6 mos in my raised bed, it was perfect...but I guess the tomatoes scraps I put into the composts forgot to "cook" and now I have thousands of tiny volunteer tomatoe seedlings I must pull out of my garden bed.
Look at those volunteer tomatoes
Baby Green Tomatoe (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. I have blooms and baby tomatoes. Good sign, cannot wait to harvest the tasty fruit.

My compost Bin (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. I got this for Mother's Day last May and had been collecting garden and kitchen organic scraps all year...and I had enought to "top off" my raised bed with good soil and lots of earth worms..of course I also got all those volunteer tomatoe seeds I will have to pull up.
My compost Bin
Upsy Turvy Tomatoe (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010. After giving up on growing Topsy Turvy upside down tomatoes, I grew this one from top of the bag last year..then cut it back when I thought it died and it returned so letting it grow.
Upsy Turvy Tomatoe
Cilantro (seflagamma)
Oct 25, 2010: two pots of Cilantro I grew from seeds, it will be ready to use in just a few weeks. This plant must be replanted every 2 mos because it goes to flower/seed easily.

Oh Blu, you do not realize the pressure I am under.

Lucky my DIL, Pam , will do Thanksgiving.. Her mother and I will do almost all of the cooking, but we will have the big family event at my son's home ..so I do not have to do it here.

Hanukkah comes Dec 1st this year.. and my husband's family is Jewish!

We have a Family BarMitzah on Sat. Dec 4th and my hubby's sister from California will be staying with us for 4 days...for some reason, most of our family's Jewish Bar/BatMitzah/Weddings's have always been in the middle of Christmas Holidays. But I guess it makes sense to them; they are already off work so they plan their special events during this period of time....

I will be stressing out big time because I have to work the days leading up to this weekend and while my SIL is here.. and of course
Men have no problem with any of this because it does not concern them...

Oh did I mention that Nolan's First Birthday Party will be at our home probably Dec 5th???
no problem... the day after the big family BarMitzah..

It will be nuts If I do not have my home totally decorated for Hanukkah & Christmas by Thanksgiving...
I must or I will be committed..

My family is crazy and expects so much from me, and my husband is really no help at all in these matters..
he makes them worse.
He stands out on the street corner with signs that says
"Come stay with me, I love to entertain while my wife does all the work"

Because Guess What.. none of this puts any pressure
on him or his job!

I am venting forgive me I am sure I will delete this post tomorrow morning but it feels good right now.

And I am not even telling you about our "Family Functions" in November!

and it is still raining!

Good morning everyone,

It is Election Day and if you have not already "Early Voted" please do your home work and learn about the canidates and cast a thoughtful vote today.

WoW, both of my rain guages had 1" of rain in it from the past 20 hours.. I just dumped both of them...remember I dumped them at noon yesterday.

Broward will probably be green again this afternoon when the drought map updates.
sure hope other areas got that much rain.

and today Nolan and I will be staying home and making home made Chicken soup with Matzo Balls... I have the whole chicken in the large pot boiling now for some broth.

Sounds like good comfort food to eat while watching election returns tonight.

Everyone enjoy your day!

Good morning Gamms -- I haven't been here in TOO long...... limited time and I got totally swept away in Lady Shalott's blog - between the poem and the time period I was hooked.

Great to see your TRIBE so happy and enjoying Halloween. Your gardening is phenomenal -- I won't discuss mine right now --other then I have been feeding every kind of 4-legged, winged one or bug in my neighborhood -- it's kinda funny, but stings for all the time/labor spent.

heading out for my run before I am stuck in sit down, seat work time 4 hubby.... I'd RATHER weed then file!!!!

glad you got rain - front lawn is crispy, back yard is turning into a dust bowl.... even my fruit trees are stressing & what's up with the fire ants..... I had NONE for a few years -- now it's like a building boom of ant hills!! A Good Day to YOU!!

Hi Surf, I read on Aqua's blog about your garden problems.. now once I get red tomatoes the birds peck holes in them and the squirrels take one big toothy bite out of them..last year I put up strips of foil all over them and that seemed to help a little.

My grandson Nolan is such a funny boy.. just laugh my butt off at him and he thinks he is so cool.
I have the big heavy play station that has one of those "sit in seats" that rolls around the play station table for the tot to move around and play with the many sides of the activity.

Well, Nolan is so strong, he can take off in another direction in that seat that has wheels and he drags the play station table along with him.. he just came into the office from the living room and had to move thru the dining room and make it through a tight hall to get here....pulling the heavy table.

That boy is strong as an ox!

If he is holding his bottle even when his eyes are such almost asleep.. you Cannot pull that bottle out of his grip..he is so strong.. I had hubby come try it while I was rocking him yesterday and he could not believe the grip Nolan had on the bottle! LOL

Got to go, he will destroy the house if I don't... and now he is trying to walk..been talking steps for awhile now...not sure I want him walking all over the place he is danger enough crawling!

And he is way too smart and can figure things out.. we make a barrier for him to keep him in certain areas...and he figures how to get around it, over it or thru it.. or heck he will move it!

Wow, that Nolan is gonna have to play football for one of the Florida schools. I don't suppose you would let him sign up now for Purdue. Just popped in to say goodbye. Will be back on a week from Friday. Make sure everyone keeps the peace.

Ogal, Have a great time!!! I thought you leave tomorrow.. Oh yes, you have all those last minute things to do today and you leave very early... So happy for you!!!

Sandi, LOL actually Ellen has one of those strong plastic "play fence" that we can arrange to "pen" him in..but now he is getting almost too strong for it and he tries to climb it! He would probably climb out of that doggy fence! He is too much...he is so different than Rylee was as a baby. LOL

Sugar, we are aware that girl is going to give her Daddy a lot of grey hair as she gets older! Her Mama tries to keep her in line while she is still young! She is playing soccer this year for the first time and she is better than all of the other girls, but a few boys her age (5) are a little better than her... of course, her Mama was a soccor star and is coaching her to beat the boys also! LOL

I have my Matza Balls cooking and the Chicken soup is simmering...... it smells so good and I am so hungry, cannot wait for it to be ready in about another hour!

Hi Gamma!

So glad that everyone enjoyed the mystery behind my Shalott blog and I'm still enjoying those wonderful Halloween pics of your family past to present! What excellent keepsakes!!

Hope that matzaball soup is most enjoyable! It's been awhile since I've had some. Will have to consider it on my grocerty list.

It's the thumb, it changed colors when I crossed the state line.

Came here to look for that video....

Still can't find it.

Evening!
Just popping in to say hi. It poured out at work all day..and tomorrow is supposed to be wetter!

Just got home from my second (and probably last) celebration for the b-day. My regular Wednesday crowd treated me to an evening out at the pub. Hopefully I won't be in pain, like I was Monday night!

Good morning everyone

Back at work this morning and I am so tried it is hard to believe I got a minute's rest during the past 4 days.. actually I didn't really.

but had to get back to work again early this morning.

and we got probably over 1" of rain at my house yesterday and I could not dump the guagues this mroning so I have no idea how much we will have in them if it rains all day.

Looks like most of Florida is getting some of this rain and central and north Florida needs it really bad. Hope the Drought Maps looks a little greener when it updates this afternooon....

NEw, I hear you, the buiness time of the year is upon us and no w it is getting crazy busy at work also... I wish I could afford to take an "unpaid leave of absence" from work for about 2 months! but I cannot...

Sugar, I am so hoping your area gets lots of nice soaking rain with this front. I would love to see the entire state nice and green again before the "real" dry season kicks in.

Jeff, that is great... that's the way you are suppose to celebrate a birthday.. many nights in a row! I have been accused of celebrating my birthday for over a week many time! LOL

have not been around much so not sure what is going on in the tropics.. will check and see.

and I need to set up a new blog thread this week.

Enjoy your Thursday!
