I earned some brownie points with the Queen yesterday. On our way home from a short walk with Abbey I caught the scent of lilacs. I looked down the street I was crossing and about a half block were 2 large lilac bushes in full bloom. The owner of the home, where the lilacs were growing, was outside watering his flower garden so I walked over and asked if I could get a couple of bunches for the Queen. Abbey and me must have looked strange with me walking down the street with me carrying a bouquet of flowers.

Good morning Tony. Early bird gets the first post...LOL I love lilacs too. Unfortunately our blossoms froze before they were able to fully open. Gotta wait until next year now for them to bloom in my yard. My Rose of Sharon are doing very well. Should have lots of blooms on them. I have both the blue as well as the white with red centres. They make quite the show but alas not much scent.

MUSH was on FB busy posting virus warnings etc there yesterday.

Anyway, have a great Monday. I am going to enjoy the warmer temps and sunshine after all the rain we got. Will try to get out later to cut the front lawn too.

That reminds me, Tony, I need to go on the back of the family farm and pick my wife some wildflowers; they're starting to peak now!

Have a good day!

Good Afternoon, Tony ~

You're still quite the romantic, having taken the time to barter for free lilacs, while walking Abbey the other day. I love the scent of lilacs as well and miss those early days of my youth, while opening the front door to our home in late spring, to be able to smell wafts of its sweet perfume coming from large bushes across the street. Sadly, those days are long gone and I haven't seen or smelled any in quite some time. I don't know if it's due to climatic or developmental changes that have occurred around here since then but, at least, I still can appreciate viewing the springtime blooms of forsythia bushes in our backyard. Unfortunately, the pussywillows once plentiful to our region a few decades ago, have also seemingly vanished. Such is life and over-development, I guess.

Currently, we're stuck in a miserably chilly rainy weather pattern that looks like it'll be sticking around for most of the week. It appears early and late spring have swapped out conditions-wise. Thankfully, our temps and weather aren't conducive for another tornadic blow. We can deal with Nor'easters, tropical storms and certain hurricanes, but forget about tornadoes!!!

Enjoy the more summer-like weather to your area! I'm envious viewing all that sunshine via your webcam. Wish it came with lilac smell-a-vision. LOL!
