It was a quiet day on the prairie. I got some grass seed planted in the front yard and my irrigation pump up and running. last year I had a problem with the pump holding it's prime. This winter I cleaned up the check valve hoping this would fix the problem. I tried to remove the piece but it's been over 30 year's since a pipe wrench has touched it and it's frozen in place. I I could have gotten it off I would have replaced the check valve with a new one I have in the hoard. If it still leaks I may have to add a second check valve. The pump works great. I bought the thing second hand when we bought this house in 1978, who knows how many gallons of water it brought from the ground. The only thing I've ever done to it is to oil the bearing's yearly in the motor and clean the impeller once. That old pump was sure built to last.

A bit cooler here today with overcast skies, had rain about 4 AM and it sure freshed up the air after those mid 80s we had on the wknd.
Have a great day Tony. Glad you got to putter in the yard yesterday.
Sounds like you spent another productive afternoon out in your yard the other day. It must feel great knowing all the mechanisms involved when working on your older irrigation pumps and valves. What an additional plus to have reliable inexpensive seconds on hand in case of needed replacements. I guess it pays to have that salvage area or hoard in your garage after all! One never knows when it'll come in handy! LOL!
Seems we're again rather in sync with current weather patterns. We're looking at quite unsettled weather most of this week as well. Currently, my chief concern is for the possibility of a Thursday afternoon thunderstorm coinciding with my scheduled dental appointment. The last thing I want is to be constrained in a dental chair, while having electrically run instruments or any metal objects in or near my mouth! LOL! If I were zapped during the xray phase, at least my upper portion would be shielded by a radiation bib. Unfortunately, I feel it would be of little consolation or protection to the rest of me if such occurred. LOL!
At least Mush didn't say the owl was you, lol!
