My hometown (Anthony, KS) dodged a major tornado on Apr. 14, 2012 by about 5 miles. This tornado originated near Cherokee, OK and moved Northeast across the Kansas-Oklahoma border into my home county (Harper). This large wedge tornado moved past Anthony at about 9:15 p.m. and continued into Sumner county where it struck Argonia and then Conway Springs. It then continued into Sedgwick county where it caused several million dollars worth of damage to the Southeast side of Wichita. It then moved along the Kansas Turnpike past El Dorado where it soon lifted back into the Thunderstorm. This tornado nearly followed the same path as the Andover tornado of Apr. 26, 1991. There has been some injuries reported from this tornado outbreak but luckily no deaths were reported in Kansas. Oklahoma was not as fortunate as 5 deaths have been reported at Woodward.
