It's been so hot lately! Oh, you've noticed? I thought you might have. If you live anywhere in the United States, you've been in the fisted grip of a heat wave. 97° in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., is nearly unheard of. It didn't look much better today.

But suddenly, it's 72°. The temp not only dropped, we also got some much-needed rain. Probably not nearly enough, but it was heaven to hear the sound of rain on the roof for the first time in far too long. I hope the farmers and orchard growers are doing a happy dance.

Hopefully, this drop in temps and the rain came in time to give crops somewhat of a reprieve. It didn't come in time to save some of the flowers in pots on my deck. Despite the fact that I watered--more than once a day--they look like dried up wisps.

January 2008 Favorites

Now and then people actually look at these blogs, which is why I like to post of my favorite photos. Sometimes they're just so splendid I think they need to be shared by others who may have missed them.It's a new year, so I'm going to try to get here to post at least one a day. That way I can come back and look at them and be pleased all over again.

Shame on me. I have forgotten to add photos lately to my favorites list, my list of photos that deserve special recognition. But today I found one that should be included, and so here it is.And then I'm going to scurry and find more!

WU's Best of September '07

September already. Last month I got a late start choosing my favorite photos. This time I'll select from the whole month, a day at a time. Everyone's just holding their breath to see what I choose, right? Yeah sure.
