We have had .54 inches of rain in 31 days, and it's APRIL!

We really need to get some rain out of this system coming through tonight, but it doesn't look like a major event.

No need to say much more than the headline, but I will add this:1. We don't normally hit daily average highs of 70 degrees until the first week of May.2. We don't hit average highs of 80 degrees until the second week of June.So how out of whack are things right now?

I know some other people in the immediate area weren't so fortunate, but we basically missed the bad storms here in Celina on Friday (March 2). There was no significant wind damage that I know of, and we pretty much didn't even get any rain out of it, which was a very good thing. The ground is saturated and would not have held any more. Wednesday surely had a wide range of weather conditions. There was a light frost in the early morning, which fell before the clouds moved in.Then by mid-morning, we had a bit of thunder and some rain. By noon, the temps were pushing 60 degrees. For good measure, we had wind gusts up to 20 mph. Speaking of wind, does it consistently blow more often and much harder these days, or am I just noticing it more in my middle age?

Sunday's snow could have been a doozy, but the moisture and temperatures, as if often the case here, just didn't match up.There were probably a couple of inches on the ground at one time, but when the heavy stuff stopped, it started melting pretty quickly. It's a distant memory now. Today was a really nice day, and will be near 70 later in the week.
