The Raspberry Patch's Gardens 2011
Posted by: TheRasberryPatch, 04:14 PM GMT del 09 Giugno 2011 +2
Here are a few pictures of this year's gardens. I have the same area for potatoes and the other garden is a bit different. It has the usual staples of tomato, peppers, cucumbers and onion. I decided to have an area for herbs. I also planted cabbage. I have been making sauerkraut in the fall and thought why not use home grown cabbage to make the sauerkraut.

Around the pool is a bit different. We removed some plants for a bit of hardscaping to be able to relax around the pool in the sun. By 4pm a lot of the pool is in the shade of the house and we didn't have any areas to sit or lay by the pool in the late afternoon. Also, the wall below the arborvitaes was not in good condition and we needed to have a new one erected.

we're fortunate to have a mennonite farm just outside of our village where we can get fresh produce at good prices. So when the garden fails, that's where we go. The first-year black raspberries are here, but way too few. Gotta read about pruning them correctly for next year. They are really huge (both plants and berries) and yummy!

Good to see you on the blog Rasb.
Gotta procure a peck of perfect pickling Cukes huh?

Its an urge I understand. Even though I havent done anything like that for the past 20 some years here in Florida.

I look forward to any pics you have the time for.

Marlin tourney is only a couple weeks away isnt it?

yep White Marlin Open starts next Monday. hopefully, they will have good weather.

Spathy - the White Marlin Open started today, August 6th. Here is a link

I was at the beach this weekend and had a great time. The water was so nice. Not many good waves for bodysurfing in the afternoon. Low tide. The tide started to come in around 5 and the waves started to get better.
A weird thing....I have never seen it....At 525pm the Lifeguards called everyone in. Then they left at 530pm and everyone got back in the water. I guess it is their way of saying when they left the water was clear and it keeps them from any controversy or lawsuits.
