Synopsis for Tuesday, September, 7th, 2010;

For the capitol region, lows will be in the mid 50's with mostly cloudy to overcast conditions with a slight chance for rain showers, with chances becoming negligible after 3 a.m. During the day, expect clear to partly cloudy conditions and highs in the low to mid 80's for the region as a warm front sweeps across upstate New York and the rest of New England. This will lead to temperatures roughly 5-10 degrees above average for this time of year. For the evening, temperatures will fall to the mid 60's before midnight, with a 30% chance for showers.

Well, after a 15 month stay in Goose Creek, SC, I am again moving, a necessity of my job in the Navy. On September 3rd I will be making my way up to Saratoga Springs, NY. I'm definitely excited to see a new area of the country, especially one with easy access to places like Boston, NYC, Albany and Montreal.

Everyone in the Charleston area still remembers the snow event from February 12th, I'm sure. It was a rare event, and brought the most snow in over 20 years to the area. What would you say if I said we could do it again? Wunderground is forecasting a 80% chance of precipitation for Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, including rain and yes, snow. As many of you local bloggers from the Charleston area know, we are expecting snow later tonight and tomorrow morning. Reports have already come in from Moncks Corner indicating it has been snowing lightly there since 5 pm. Tonight's forecast calls for lows in the upper 20's, north winds of 15-20 mph, and a near 100 percent chance of the fluffy stuff, on the order of 4-6 inches.
