Shelf Cloud Over Biloxi

Well I weather weenied it up today. Got several pics of a really nice shelf cloud over Biloxi. Not much LTG associated with it but impressive none the less. The storm had to have put out 40 to 50 knots of wind. The rain started to come hard before I decided to get out the kestral since the pictures seemed the better decision at the time. So I'm not sure of the exact wind.

I made some new updates to Weatherweenies.org. If anyone wants to visit. I try to make it user friendly and a decent tool for forecasting.

Multiple Bow Echos In MS

Yap, at work here checked this thing out and was like wow. Gots to get the camera out later.

A new baroclinic low is forming in the central u.s amist a long wave trough. Definatly the weather watcher this week as it'll create some storms in the south from texas to Goergia. And definatly a large amount of snow in the NE! But thats all I say on that. Many other blogs that are taking there time to talk about it.

Very Important, Cyber Attack Via USB

Now this is an informal warning since I only got some of the information at work today. But somehow A very bad trojan was implanted in to a lot of USB devices back in there development stage....

As of now I know all Military and Goverment computers are not allowed to have any storage device (usb, external hard drive) attached to the computer.

This is becuase the virus retrieves information off the computer and sends it somewhere overseas. So I suggest anyone using these devices to not use it.

The virus has been found in, Ipods, flash drives, external hard drives and some cases the hard drives on new cars!

Thats all I know I'm just trying to get the word out and see if anyone else knows something about this. Thanks thats all!

VETS DAY

Well not much new going on. Just got done with a four day weekend. Veterans is a good day in the navy. Hope all others have a good day. I went and picked someone up at the airport. The uso had free food. Hurrah!

Anyways hope all other military are having a good weekend. I'm getting ready to get back on the job tomorrow. Anyone got any ideas on the forecast for tomorrow let me know. I'v had 4 days off. I'm kind of clueless on whats going on right now. Of course I'll look it up but any other thoughts are good!

Definatly my best military pic. It makes me look like such a bad ass. I guess I work in weather and this is a weather plane but so its similiar. But not really.

Nov 9-14 Winter Storm

12 hour prog

I havent done a winter update in a long time so I was thinking why the heck not! So as of now theres some lake effect forming down stream of most of the GLks. If anyone has a question about where down stream is check out the winds on this page that should help. The warm lakes are going to supply at 3-4 inches in most locations down stream. But around buffalo and to the NW of Ontario (watertown) They could expect 8-10 inches of snow by mid-day tomorrow.

Otherwise Triple the low cuase the NW wind is decaying and moving off to the low graveyard near hudson bay. Another triple point low formed supported by a major Short wave trough near the coast will send that guy off to the atlantic. Not affecting the u.s anymore.

This Week

12 hour 500mb winds

I posted the above graphic to show a finger of the PFJ forming over texas. This jet is going to have a large influence on the weather this week.

Shown on the prog chart at the top of the page a low is forming here. The jet will assist in causing upper level divergance thus deepening this low witch in turn will increase frontal thickenss packing witch in turn will cuase some strong weather across the central u.s and possibly up through the great lakes mid week.

I see some thunderstorm froming from this storm 2 days out ahead of the warm front due to instability cuased by warm air being dragged up from the gulf clashing with cold air moving South from the north. These storms would only be embedded and I really don't think any would become severe.

But as the low gets farther north 3-4 days out the NE could see some lake effect again. But I think the system may loose a lot of its "go" by this time due to a loss of upper level support as well as the airmass contrast may not be there.

That could change dramaticly as of now. But I would only forecast 3-6 inches of snow downstream of winds flowing across the lakes.

Anyways thats my quick forecast. Not the best, and not nearly as detailed as others but I felt like tossing it out there since its sunday night and I'm bored. See all around and don't forget to stop by Weather Weenies.

Dear weather,

Its getting cold outside. But I'll live. I have a jacket....

Ok that was for my classmates that make fun of me for blogging.

To everyone else. I added some new recommended links. I suggest checking out the JMA. Its japans weather. Be sure to switch it to english. It can get really confusing fast.

Anywho, also been working on weather weenies! New stuff in there but its still not the best site in the world. So I'm hanging around.
