Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea of Cortez has been free of any cloudiness for the past 24 hours.
Looking south I can see that back in the mountains between Los Mochas and Mazatlan there has been quite a lot of thunderbumper activity that is, and has been drifting toward the coast and there is quite a bit of cloudiness in the Sea between Los Mochas and La Paz.
Mazatlan at 5am had a big honk’n thunderbumper right over the top of it. I’ve already give you the rain totals along the Riviera.
Further south there is that rather stationary low that has been designated invest 95. It is currently around 300 miles southwest of the cape and is producing a lot of showers and thunderbumper that are moving toward the coast.
This low is not forecast to develop into anything tropical as it has entered cooler waters. It will however continue to give cause to lots of rain along the Mexican Riviera region today.
From around Puerto Vallarta south there has been numerous thunderbumpers during the night and early morning hours. These storms are very tall and are producing at lot of rain along the coast.
Further south the Tehuantepec continues to have daily and nightly thunderbumper in the Gulf and extending almost all the way east across the isthmus.
The ITCZ/Monsoon trough is disconnected again this morning from around Panama to where it connects again in the vicinity of Cabo Corrienties where it then heads SW back to around 10N and then continues around the globe.
Looking east out into the Caribbean and Atlantic I can’t see any tropical waves headed our way so it looks like there will be nothing cooking in our Tropical Kitchen for at least the next 48 hours.
Looking now north to the west coast of America where the only real item of interest is a low off the Oregon/Washington coast that will move ashore on Friday bringing light rain to as far south as the upper Sacramento valley. This is a slow mover and will end up in the Great Basin probably on Sunday and exit early next week.
In the meantime today will just see some cloudiness in Oregon and Washington and the rest of the west coast will see mostly sunshine in the afternoons along with morning fog.
The fog bank extends from just south of Turtle Bay all the way north to the Columbia River.
Southern California will see temperatures in the low to mid 70s into the weekend. Foggy along the coast during the nigh and then clearing by mid morning.
Looking now over to the southwest where temperatures in Tucson will continue to be in the 107 ranges until this weekend when it will cool down a bit Friday afternoon could see some thunderbumper activity east of Bisbee. There is a better chance on Saturday a bit south of Tucson then Sunday and Monday it looks right now like a very good chance of some monsoon activity in southwest Arizona.
That’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies today, a bit less tomorrow and a bit more on Saturday.
The central Sea will see moderate southerlies today, very moderate tomorrow and Saturday the southerlies will be in the 20 knot ranges in the afternoon.
The southern Sea will continue to see moderate SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
Temperatures across the board yesterday were down a few degrees and it looks like they should be about the same today with afternoon highs in the high 80s to the mid 90s.
