.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that the Sea has been cloud free for the past 24 hours.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera where from about Cabo Corrienties south to Zihuatanejo they have been seeing multi level clouds pass over the region many with dark bottoms.
All this cloudiness is coming from an area of very heavy thunderbumper activity about 800 miles west of Manzanillo that stretches from around 16N to around 8N along the coast. There are too many thunderbumpers working in this area to count. It does not look like this is going to change today.
Looking further south to the Tehuantepec moderate SW winds are forecast to continue today and tomorrow then a trough moving across the western Gulf of Mexico will contribute to a weak Tehuantepec event by Sunday. It’s a little fuzzy right now as to how high the winds will be, but be advised of a change in the conditions in the Gulf on Sunday.
Looking now at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough I can see a couple of embedded lows in the zone this morning. Most likely they will continue to move to the west but with the official opening of the tropical season only 4 days away it’s prudent to start paying attention to these developing systems. I’ll be checking the sonrisa’s website’s Tropical Page to make sure I have the latest storm watching tools in working order.
That’s about it for our hood this morning so looking not north to the west coast of America where the Great Northwest has frost advisories out this morning.
In general the west coast of California is fogged in with the fog reaching inland a ways. The interior valleys will be warm and sunny today and the coast will be slow in clearing.
Southern California has a weak low moving through today causing some gusterly conditions mainly in the deserts. It will be a bit cooler as this front passes then high pressure will rebuild over the weekend and bring warm to hot weather, except near the coast where the marine layer will keep things on the cool side.
Looking now over to the southwest where warm and dry conditions will be present through the weekend. Monday there is a slight chance of some mountain showers as a weak trough moves down the Arizona/New Mexico border. Thereafter high pressure will rebuild with highs in the Tucson area reaching the century mark by the middle of the week.
That’s what is gong on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies today. Tomorrow moderate northerlies and Sunday brisk northerlies.
The central Sea much like the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies today. Tomorrow moderate northerlies and Sunday brisk northerlies.
The southern Sea will see very moderate winds over the 3-day forecast period. Today from the south and then NW tomorrow and Sunday.
We have had two weeks of this great weather and it looks like we will have two more days before the winds pick up on Sunday.
Temperatures today will be in the mid to high 80s.
