Lots of sun this morning, remains cold and windy, temp -9C with a breeze froM NW @ 25-30KPH giving a windchill factor in the high teens. No relief from cold till the end of the week, then southerly will give us rain or 'wintry mix'.
Have a new laptop, not a MAC, still getting the thing set up, spent two hours last evening attempting to get e-mail where it should be, still not the case. Can receive, but no sending, another attempt this evening. So far looking good, have to figure out the accessories, but have managed to get many of the offending chords eliminated.
Kids are still up for playing the 'old folks' in hockey again this evening. I am amazed how they have embraced the game and social action in such short order.

Morning CHUNKS, see the 'lock-out' reported in the paper. By the reporting sounds as if it could be awhile before a resolution, both sides have issues that must be resolved to their liking. Never a 'good time' to have the stoppage of regular paycheque.
Did follow advice and now have a mid line 'laptop', not much of an IT person consequently have spent some frustrating hours getting this unit up and running, some still remains to be done. However do have the basics in place, believe it will be great once have my icons replaced.
Have a good one.

Enjoy you day!
So proud of you! You have advanced to the new technology. It is hard to get used to new stuff, but when all is set up you wonder why you fretted. I would have liked to have a Mac too, but, as kids said - this will do pretty much the same thing and in three years you will have to replace anyway if you want the new up-grades: i.e. windows 12 probably by then. As rediculous as that may sound, since I have Windows 7 now, I can't believe how easy it is to do stuff that on the old program I would have had to get the kids to show me the zillion places I had to go to do a simple task. Chin up - you will have everything soon. Consider it a new toy and you will have fun.
It remains cold here, mostly due to the high winds. It is refreshing though to go out and have a walk about. Gives you enough energy to regroup and have at whatever mundane task you are doing inside.
The lock out situation is remaining level-headedness for now. As reported, the dispute is over medical benefits for the retirees. In one way it is good that all support the older workers, but in another it is hard not to have an income to pay all the necessary 'stuff'. I hope I don't end up selling my new lap top to pay for the hydro or something dumb. Arg. and woot.
Glad that Em has kept chin up and continues with her hockey. Sports are so beneficial. Keeps from being a couch potatoe, promotes social interaction, health benefits, etc. When skating over they will all be dying to find something to take up the slack physical activitiy wise. Good for her.
Well gotta get the man fed. Unfortunately for him he is on the picket line for mid-nights and it is going to be minus 20 or something with the wind chill. Arg again.
Keep having fun with the new toy. Let me know if you want to borrow my awesome Windows 7 - Plain and Simple book. I will bring over. What an awesome excuse.
Word. Chunks.
