GRAND MANAN, N.B.

A weather pattern change in the offing, warming trend, snow, windy till at least mid week. Currently -2C, NE 35-40KPH, expected to swing to SE and snow by this afternoon.

Weather not doing much for the rink, ice just about there, but can't get the weather to finish it off. Kids of all ages ask me about the status of the ice, anxious to get it on is an understatement.

Rob had an afternoon of sliding, a great weather day for that. Temp cool not cold, lots of sun and no wind, one made to order for such activity.

Dear Rob:

The moisture is just hanging in the air. You can feel that at any given moment it is going to break out and send down those fluffies. It will be nice. The temp is decent though so must try to get in a nice brisk walk.

Son off to school this a.m. but has since come home - stuffed up and generally feeling like a wet noodle. Not a good time to be ill with exams right around the corner.

I hope that some how a miracle happens and you get your rink ice. Our rink here is filled to capacity from 5:00 in the morning until 12:00 at night. Always practicing, games, figure skating or something happening there. Good luck.

Off to bake for the bake sale. Have a good one.
