Clouds, wind a slight change to NW, dropped off now @10=15KPH, mild temp 1C to rise with showers possible by later on today. Temps to remain on plus side till at least mid week. An early January thaw appears to be in place.

The rain knocked down the snow to some degree, however with the amount we had will be awhile before I can get around in the woods. The tides are starting to drop back after being a concern around the shore, but nothing like in the Northumberland Strait. I had a bit over the seawall, but nothing too speacil.

Kids at home with one extra, Rob getting excited he was able to get his X-BOX to recognize the remote, however still a step he is missing. I am sure he will find one of his buddies to get him over the final hurdle.

Scalloping next on the fishery agenda, believe it will be next week before the 'line opens'. A number of boats gearing up for the first little while at least, no reports on what the price might be.

Good morning to you! Glad to hear of the moderation in temps and receding tide.

We're cool today (cold for us) and cold all week, with falling temperatures and a hard freeze projected for the end of the week. I don't think we're going to get any frozen precipitation, even though some are bringing the sleet line pretty close.

Scalloping's another industry I'm happy to support. I may have to go by the fish market and see what they have - but first I have to go get seed for the poor, pathetic creatures that are pecking at my window!

Dear Rob:

Today is a mixed bag - sunshine one minute, heavy snow the next?

Yesterday afternoon went to Sussex to visit mother and then on to town to take her out for supper. By the time we dropped her, back home, the snow was unreal. We drove home in a near blizzard and the grip marks on my seat will prove it. 40-50 kph the whole way on the two laner to Hampton? Stopping almost impossible. Son, coming from the other direction, had just about the same. Thank God we gave him the heavier car. He did very well driving even though, as he said, 'mom, I do have one and a half years driving experience'. Now instead of just having my own heart attack, I have one for him too.

Husband and son off to poley for skiing and snow-boarding in fresh powder. Me, and daughter, off to town to get 'deals' for hubs birthday tomorrow, and 'deals' for us - maybe, plus special birthday groceries.

Have an excellent day. Glad, very glad, to hear that your house was not one of those swept off foundation by storm serge.

Have a good one. Word. Chunks.

P.S. TO SHORE; So glad there is someone else like me who thinks of the poor birds and critters before I think of anyone else. GOOD JOB.
