Donna escorting her friend to a Dr.'s appointment today, with a few side trips to Garden Centre I am certain. Not a bad day for travel as long as the rain holds off.

Rob and his group playing Friday at RELAY FOR LIFE, the following weekend attend a national conference for youth in Fredericton and entertaining the masses with the group, busy with his music. Appears both have summer jobs lined up, a good thing.

A grand looking morning in Moncton, clear, calm, temp 10C. Forecast the Bay gives a wind change from northerly to south wind rain and showers till midweek, and mention of Tropical Storm BERYL entering the weather conversation.

A hell of a show, great entertainment, expected lots of crocs like us, large contingent of young folks, the venue rocking for the full ninety minutes. Lots of the audience singing, at the encore a rush to the stage for the three songs, something not likely to have accurred at EL DIVO.

Emily to be on the ferry with us on the 1:30, this her last weekend till graduation, exams, an orientation @ UNB next weekend, just a full slate for the next several weeks.

Muggy, temp 14C, foggy visibility less than 1/4 mile, a breeze from SW. Expect similar conditons for most of the day.

Another foggy start to the day, a slight draft from SW keeping the clearing skies at bay. A cool 7C, expect to top off in the teens as the day moves along, clearing with rain overnight.

A grand surprise yesterday, folks from "Upper Canada", faithful readers of the blog stopped by enroute home for a hello. Brian and Ruth attending a Royal Canadian Navy Reunion in Cornwallis, N.S. They had stopped by a couple of years ago making the same trip, wonderful to see them again. A couple of jars of ICE WINE from thier part of the world a great addition to my limited wine cellar.

Emily a bit easiar to live with this morning, off to Quispam on late boat to insure Whatshisname is still in the area.

Another switch in the weather, another foggy morning when it shouldn't be with a stiff breeze from NE. Temp 10C, supposed to clear with temps rising in the high teens, will have to wait and see, moisture for tonight well into the weekend.

The power shop in St. John went well, managed to get the vehicle full of 'must haves', a bit of a challenge as the Dr.'s appointment took a bit longer than usual. However the crew were up to the challenge, no problem. I have been advised fortunate we travelled as the money 'saved' in the sales was great. I suppose if we went back again even more savings would be the result.

Quite a few folks travelling, mostly locals, a few strangers now in the mix, tis the season for folks to start to have a look around.

The damp foggy weather continues, even with the draft of wind coming from NE. Temp a muggy 14C, enough air moving to wave the flag, forecast is for showers, patchy fog and rain by this evening, a bit of clearing for Friday, generally damp the order of the next few days.

A trip to St. John, a quick visit to kids doctor for once over. Rob needs something other than new jeans for grad, including a pair of leather shoes, something he hasn't had since an infant. Donna making the trip to insure the attire is appropiate and not from WEST 49. I have not been made aware of what items Emily requires to complete her ensemble, however will nod my head at the appropiate time, with a smile of course.

Local fishing news not overly great, haven't heard of much this past few days to be really in the loop.

A great change in the weather overnight, temp still in low teens, however fog has visibility less than 1/2 mile. Forecast is for showers and rain for the day with clearing in the offing over next couple of days.

Yesterday spent 'assisting' in the replacement of shrubs, and insuring the lawn mowed, and attempts to revive some winter kill spots. The grounds are changing, not an uncommon phenom this time of year.

Emily babysitting for the day, managed to get by without visiting Quispam with a minimum of sighing. On for the weekend, then fast break to exams and graduation festivities.

VICTORIA DAY, MAY 21/12
Posted by: GRANDMANAN, 11:00 AM GMT del 21 Maggio 2012 +0
A continuation of the great long weekend weather, however the sky is hinting of a weather change not too far in the future. Calm, a hint of southerly, with a small amount of haze, temp 10C to rise into high teens. Rain overnight to continue for a couple of days.

The weather yesterday certainly worthy of comment, temp in the mid 20s by mid afternoon, bright sun, conditions would expect during the summer months. The good weather allowed some shrubs that had lived thier life to be pulled out, now replacement is required. I have the opportunity to assist in the planting, but offer no suggestions as to what should go back in the ground.

A couple of boats fishing in the harbour, seems to be more traps close to shore each day.

Overcast, calm. temp 11C, to rise a few degrees with showers for today, rain for tomorrow, similar temps and wind conditions, long weekend looking not too bad this far out at least.

The Municipal Election now in the books, incumbent mayor returning, five new Councillors four incumbent, a mix of female for the first time in many years. Three women will make quite a difference to the fabric of Village Council. Nearly 68% of eligble voters took the time to do so, a good turnout.

Garden Centre girls have today to finish up, last I heard the vehicle was already full. However feel they will rise to the challenge if a 'must have' shows up in thier travels today.

An abundance of southerly and rain on the go for the next day, clearing tomorrow or at least let up on the moisture. Currently 20-25KPH southerly, steady rain, expect to be downpour later on, a rainfall warning in effect.

This much moisture has certainly brought the lawn alive, can see what the weekend has instore once the grounds dry up some.

The boats will no doubt stay put till tomorrow, would be nasty on the water today. A number prefer to haul around a couple of times a week then have the weekend on shore. If weather not co-operating you go when it is fit.

A grand looking morning in commence, bright sun, calm, the remnants of a heavy frost already reduced to wet grass. Temp to rise into mid-teens, similar weather conditions for tomorrow, then rain for the remainder of the week.

Full tides have brought some clammers out on the harbour floor this morning. A few boats hauling a few traps in the harbour, last evening could see the number of traps on the Ross Island Shore, impressive. Price remains in the $5/lb range, catch spotty at best. The seining fleet has been successful, with limited quota for the month anticipate they will be tied up shortly.

A number of the high school students left yesterday for Killarney, Manitoba on student exchange. Our two opted not, too bad our good friends live there and we spent a number of years in the area.

Managed to get a start on the spring work, the riding mower helped get through the large grass. Today, time permitting will get the push mower with the bag to get up some of the old stuff.

The volleyball team one one game at the tournament, pleased with themselves the defeated team has been one that has beat them all season. Of course the overnight aspect of the trip always fun. Emily's contact down to a couple of txt's per trip, must assume all is well.

Attempt to be made to get the spring cleaning of the yard a little more advanced, or that is on my TO DO LIST, a.k.a. YES DEAR.

A few boats in the harbour doing their thing, price has taken a small bump upward to $5/lb range. Catch up and down for most boats, one catch seems to be on the upswing, next haul back to the reality of fishing, not so good as the last haul, seems has alway been thus.

A visit with brother and his other half as they escorted Donna home great to catch up. All hands are busy it seems, but tentative plans to do the family gathering thing this summer mentioned. Once an annual event however as the group become larger hard to make it work with other commitments, etc.

Interesting announcement in the Legislature yesterday, soon will be able to make reservations on the ferry both coming and going, more than 24 hours ahead and online, a positive feature for sure.

A great sunrise given to overcast, calm, a cool 5C, was in the negative side overnight. Spring is reluctant to take hold and give us nice temps day and night. Expect temp to rise during the day with showers possible overnight.

Donna being escorted back this evening by brother and wife, word is not viable to walk on with the articles that are headed home with her. Give them a chance to visit with mother, and get up to speed on how she is making out.

Inspite of the cool weather conditions the outside still needs yardwork. The grass is growing and becoming more green each day, a good sign, but requires attention sooner rather than later. Weather and procrastination make a great duo to see things undone.
