Another round of NW Flow MCS slid through N Texas today. This morning's forecast from the NWS stated they believed the line would weaken. Boy where they ever wrong. On my way into work in South Lake today the dark clouds were already NW of me and there was abundant lightning. Remembering the storm positions when I left the house I knew they could not be that close.
It appears that outflow from the MCS caused a batch of severe storms to crop up in front of the line and it all merged together over Dallas and Tarrant counties. The result was a few warnings, additional 1-2 inches of ran in some locations and my home weather station reported a 45mph wind gust as well.
Tonight's going to be a nice night so go out and enjoy it. Tomorrow morning will probably be our last shot at storms for at least a week and the 90's arrive area wide so get ready and if you have not had your home AC system checked be sure to get it done.
