Houston has pulled out the red carpet on
events throughout the city celebrating the
community. The City had a lovely kick off yesterday
with the Mayor, Mayors Office for People w.Disabilities and the Commission. Many organizations came and we had a ton of fun!
I so hope some of that rain gets to your area; but anyplace in Texas that gets rain is a good thing!
Good luck with the wet stuff!!!

Rob - HALLEFFINLUJAH
Sounds like this has become the Columbus Day weekend of our dreams. You're FINALLY getting much needed rain and a cool down while we're getting much needed warmth (85F unheard of degrees with sunshine yesterday -- WHOO HOO!)
I guess it doesn't hurt, either, that the Steelers trounced the Titans the other day! LOL!
Thought I'd leave you with some holiday eye candy to mark these festive occasions. ENJOY!
Wanna see your team kick some serious butt in soccer this weekend!
Give me a call some time.
So very proud of you...enjoy your R&R tonight!
You Rock!
Can I get a HooYah! for the Pyrate Queen?
She scores!
She's a hero in my book!

Ten years ago, we had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope, and Johnny Cash.
Now, we have no jobs, no hope, and no cash.
Good one, WP!
there will be a NATIONAL EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM
TEST on ALL STATIONS.
This is the first time, EAS will go national
This is just a test of the EAS.
I get no credit for the quote...shamelessly ripped from elsewhere on the web.
I snagged the quote to tag the NEW Ron Isley hit (and video) No More...
Hi Emmy! RE: 220.
Nov 9th is the day after Election Day...are you sure it will only be a "test"? ;^)
the drought places in Texas get rain. I've
seen some awful pictures of the farm and ranch
country. Sad. DRY. I sure hope the rain got to
all those places as well.
WP I've been at the farm, and the irrigation
water was turned off so Bud had a lot more time
to be around. Didn't have much time at all on
the computer. That, and that computer is a POS
and is trying to self-destruct. I'm back on
the East side of the mountains now, so I'll have
more time..although he says he is going to
come back here this year. He didn't come back
at all last year. So...we'll see.
below normal!
The Ranchers said the rain was good to water
the grass but really not enough to help with the cattle. Meat prices will jump up next year.
I garontee it....
Rushing by to give you all big hugs, wish you all the best and for y'all to know that I'm ....
If you haven't, I bet you will now!
Now, Emmy, if you need a taste-tester for quality control (very important, you know),
I have some free time now and then and will
be glad to assist!
Hey CKat!
I thought that idea might go over well with this crew. Can't take all the credit. A friend just brought me back a rum cake from the islands. Haven't had one in a long time, but it made me go hmmmm....Cannonballs!
just really want that taste-tester job! LOL
I have not had a rum cake in ages, either,
but those food catalogs will be coming for
Christmas and they always have one. Makes
note to self ..don't throw all catalogs into
trash without looking.
Get your drool on:
Kat - how about orange balls wah wah
not only did our temps DROP and the WINDS blew
in some refreshing weather but my play
True Confessions of a Bully (c)2011
was shown to 600 students at the George R. Brown
convention center.
What empowerment for these future leaders!
We also got LOTS of MEDIA attention as we performed for the ADL. Wonderful to know that this up and coming generation will STOMP out bullying.
I gotta say being bullied in real time throughout my life and on the internet has turned my show into
a major success - there's always HOPE and winners
do come out on top - so blessed.
My cast was amazing and the kids in the audience really felt good after seeing it. A good day.
Next we need to get rid of GUNS and SENSELESS VIOLENCE...if we could only have done that and Sunday would be here................
:o)
Ballunar Fesival this weekend
Up Up and Away
Figgures!
I'm still in shock over Sunday. She'd Wu-mail while she was scarce. We kinda kept up with each other.
Thanks for sharing the balloons. I love pics of those gatherings.
Hey Rob!
Yes I miss Sunday - she was a friend to so many of us.
Today I thought of her as there is a beading festival in Dallas and I know how much she loved to do that.
She was a gem.
Rob- yes here there everywhere....
Would you believe that we may be getting up to 6 inches of snow tonight (Sat. 10-29-11)? ARGH!!!! It's like doing the time warp again! LOL!
Hope the weather in Texas is better than ours right now. I heard that parts of Texas actually got some snow themselves. What wild and wooley times we live in these days.
Thought I'd leave a touch of the Halloween spirit for the deck. Click on the graphic below for accompanying music.
Happy Halloween
White Rabbits and Happy Month :)
If you have been to my blog you might have seen I am attempting to write every day throughout November - I want to try to complete my children's story. I am all set, and raring to go!
I have been shopping this morning to top up supplies, including a box of my favourite chocolates to give my brain a boost if it should need it! (hehehe)
All sketching pencils are sharpened, a new note book is ready beside the keyboard and the large computer screen has been turned to portrait position for ease of checking a word document!
Have a great month - hope it is a good month for you !
Happy Halloween my dear friend. Have a wonderful day.
From the Corgi Pyrate Queen :-)
Sometime later in the evening.....
I know I speak to you on FB all the time but must come by your WU blog from time to time.
WOW, wish I could send you the 10" of rain my neighborhood has gotten since Friday..
if we get any trick or treaters tonight they will have to come by boat to get down our street..
this is crazy!
Happy Halloween my WU Friends!!!
Enjoy your evening!!!
Sorry I'm late to the pyrate's fold, as it were, as I was without power from Sat. midnite until 2:00 pm yesterday due to that blasted early Nor'Easter! Thankfully, our old generator kept up throughout and provided us with heat, a working energy efficient refrigerator, automatic coffeepot and a couple of electrically based lights. We also had plenty of battery powered lanterns, flashlights and radios (one with a CD player) on hand during any generator lulls. Actually, it did conk out on us 3:15 am Sunday morning, but we were able to restart it again after a few tries in 28 degree weather. We feel so lucky on that count and for the fact that we aren't still without power until Thursday, as was originally stated by our power company!! I really feel for those in parts of Mass. and, especially, Connecticut who were hit the hardest and still must wait.
I know that the holiday below has more special meaning for you than Halloween, so here I am to decorate the "Deck" for us to celebrate this other special occasion. Hope all is well with you and that you'll return to WU in time to celebrate with your friends! Boy, 52 degrees in TX must feel downright wonderful, but chilly, after this summer's blazing heatwave! I wouldn't mind your current temps, as we're presently freezing our (you now whats off) at 33 degrees. LOL! These ole bones need plenty of warmth! LOL!
P.S. I'm glad our power was out on Sunday, as I didn't have to see your beloved Steelers trounce the Pats. LOL! Wonder if NEwxGuy has found out upon his trip home from Aruba on Sunday. Hope he has his power on where he lives in Mass. It would be like adding serious insult to injury!!
LOL!
FOR DIA DE LOS MUERTOS: October 31 - November 2, 2011
Ahoy dear Pyrates from frozen coast to drought
I see the wonderful cast has assembled and I thank you!
A wonderful November to you all and I pray this month brings you bountiful of booty....
Mass - I'm so sorry you got this Nor'easter but
am SO PROUD you had a generator. I did do a rant
on FB about y'all up there in the East. An earthquake, a cane and now this storm and all I read
is "we didn't see it coming" WHAT? WHAT?
Y'all are in a DISASTER ZONE up there!
Feel badly for the 1.6 MILLION who are still in the dark
AND HOW ABOUT THEM PATS - wahh wah wah
oh I added salt to the snow wound........
I hope you get warm soon...y'all are in for a BAD WINTER and YOU HEARD IT FROM ME so YOU ARE WARNED!
Yes, Dia de los Muertos ends today - Nov. 1st is dedicated to our children who have gone to heaven before us. I just love this holiday - and of course the art work is beyond this world!!!!!!!!
SANDI - I will go to your blog and read your story
I hope you become the next JKR of the Harry Potter English world - crossing fingers. Hoppy Rabbits to you too.
SNOWBOY!!!!!!!!!! OMG I must be drinking the right kind of beer - SO GOOD TO SEE YOU BUDDY. Beer mug up for all good spirits.
Are you under snow and happy?
We are in a devastating drought here in Texas.
There aren't enough tears or beers to pour over
our beautiful land here. GONE! Parks burnt to the ground - acres and acres and miles of miles of
destruction from fires. I've never heard people pray so hard for a cane season here, but it wasn't ours to have. Still advocating for the disability community here in Houston.....
GAMMA - yes I see you everywhere girl!
KAT, WP Susan Miller is looking good for us (Virgos at least....) WOOHOO We deserve it
Booyah
PAT - loved your marine vet story. Some people who are so hateful and greedy (and sadly have a microphone) are like cancers on the soul of America - and like tumors, must be CUT out......
Karma will kick them in the asses eventually.
OGAL PEACE ALLEY GGIRL - thanks for the goodies
Thanks to all who come to the mighty Pyrates Deck
Enjoy your week....we have no rain in our forecast, but cold front zooming in Wed/thursday
MORE WEATHER DISASTERS AHEAD...
Link
our second measurable snowfall..yikes! The
first one just finished melting and here it
is again. Going to go read Susan Miller to see
what you mean. Later!:-)
Yeah go read - I forgot you are more of a libra
right over the virgo border LOL
but I hope its good as ours
Well your winter has kicked in I see
we'll get a good cold front from y'all
Thursday/Friday - promises to be in the
upper 30's/40's here on Friday morning!
A wee bit of rain is predicted but wont
bust our drought......just freeze our butts
