I thought that you might be interested in the following story which unfolded in the town where I worked. This morning a woman left her 6 year old child at the Patrick Henry Library in Vienna and then went to work. Fortunately the librarians were able to get information from the child about the location of his father's work and were able to call him. Imagine what could have happened to the child because of his mother's blatant stupidity!

The students were wonderful performers.Really outstanding..

The program, slated for June 9 to 20, is a joint project of Isidore Newman School, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and Foundation Inc., the Tipitina's Foundation and Renew Our Music Fund. Jazz saxophonist Donald Harrison Jr. directs the NewJazzSchool with his nephew, Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott, and other professional musicians. The program selects 50 students who know major scales and are able to play at least pieces of three songs.

Hi Damon, Glaad you got home safely. Was really great to meet you. Hope all is well in FLorida. Could you please post some of the pics from get together in my blog so I can have some. :) I didn;t bring my camera of couse. It's on its last leg and don't have money for new one right now. (((Damon))) It was really great meeting you, too! Back at ya - you were just as I imagined, too. I do hope we can do it again sometime. The first meet was just way too short to suit me. It was hot, though, and I'm sure that BigT and CLady had things they wanted to do, while you were here. For your next trip, see a few of the links I've posted on LLC's blog. I can think of tons of things to see and do here, with quite a few off the beaten path.
