Hi, folks!
It’s turned gorgeous for a while. If I understand the forecast right it won’t last, but right now the sky is clear and blue, it’s almost 57F, the early sunshine is bright and everything is *so* green!
We’re getting up *way* late. I had problems sleeping last night from coughing and when the alarm went off told Sam I needed some more sleep. He stayed in bed with me! So we’re just rolling out of bed at 10am.
We worked hard yesterday. I spent the morning picking up my study and the bathroom. I’m still not sure how all this got to be such a mess, but mess it is. Well, was…. It’s down to a dull roar. Sam started in on laundry and bread, first thing, then got the kitchen cleaned up. The laundry is why the bedroom still is a mess. We *do* have enough clean clothes to go on with, but getting all that sorted out and put away, on top of making sure that the rest of the picking up got done….well, it got started.
….and then I started in on the shortbread. I made batch after batch: plain, almond and blueberry. I still want to do some more, and try the potpie recipe (it’s ½ prepped) but we’re going to the shop this morning. Maybe I’ll come back home later. I have to for Herbs Outdoors, anyway. I worked on the publicity and discovered that I missed the deadline for the local paper. But! We have a class schedule and if you take a look at the website, you’ll see that if you’re not local you can still get in on the door prize drawing.
Publicity is my first task when I get to the shop today. Howard is going to take some posters around for me, and some need to go north and south and over to the Valley. Once at the shop I need to get Rowan started on her sewing and I have 3 orders to get priced and up. A lot of the small “impulse” jewelry came in, some very small journal books that will make nice books of shadows, a lot of bumper stickers, some more amulets, a few athames and so on. Sam and I also need to finish shifting things for the work space up front and he needs to hang banners and cut the board for the signboard/planter and get the area behind the clothes done. We’re gonna be busy!
Herbs Outdoors is at 5pm today! I’ll be there! If the weather turns wet, well…. But as long as it’s like it is now, with large puffy white clouds and a little high haze, come on up to the gardens!
The shop is supposedly closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We’ll be in today, though, and I gotta get this done and out so we can!
