Hi, folks!
Fawkes finished the sparklies, so I didn’t drop any more! Between the two of us, him unwrapping and me placing we got the candle display put together. Only this is…why would someone take *all* the labels off the candles and carefully wrap them separately? Now, we have mystery candles…. We had no students today, so we used the time to whomp through a lot of stuff. The Children’s Magick display has the pegboard now, the pillow is up in the amulets section, more embroidery things got found, Fawkes put up the flag strings and *then* we started on the herb drying rack. That’s up, too, and while Sam was working on that, Fawkes and I got the reading area/book display done! He went on to re-set the pottery and then we got the classroom set up. We was busy-busy!
We finally wore down around 9 and headed home. Sam made mashed potatoes and ham slices. I made a pineapple upside-down cake and Fawkes found the ’93 mead! We split the bottle. Yum! This was the “Mead that would not Die”, that was started in ’87, sat in a basement for 3 years, was re-started and then we waited and waited and waited and waited until ’93, when Sam finally just said, “Ok, enough” and bottled it. This is also the mead that tried to kill me…. On a hot day (August? September) months after it had been bottled, the bottles of mead fired a couple of corks and spilled. We fridged the most of the rest, just to be sure it was done but a handful of bottles were set on the stove-top until we could finish up. I jostled them. Two fired corks and one of them went right across my throat, leaving a nasty bruise across my jugular….I’m glad that was just a cork!
…
It’s lovely and dimly green this morning. No frost, though it’s still pretty cold. All kinds of birds are on the feeder this morning. They’ve ½-emptied it. The jay that set it rocking wildly has been back multiple times. I’ve had at least an ½ dozen look in the window this morning. I wonder why?
So… this morning is Wicca 101, starting around 10am. We’ll take a lunch break and then do something of what we intended to do yesterday. I dunno what, because it depends on which students show up. Sam has to take Fawkes home at some point, too.
The sun just came out and it’s over 45F! The raindrop sparkles form the trees are incredible!
…and speaking of incredible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWx_GyTLGmQ&feature =youtu.be Two guys on electric guitars doing the whole chamber orchestra…Vivaldi’s 4 seasons, Summer.
The shop opens at 11am today although we’ll be there before that time, so the doors will be open.
Love & Light,
Anja
