I think it was mostly straight-line winds. My station recorded a peak gust of 55 mph, but no one believes it. No even me. I'm guessing it couldn't accurately record the constantly changing speeds. Just a guess. I need to do some research on this.
Last night's storm was a classic "Bow Echo". Which means the storm front had a smooth curve like a bow. Typically those types of storms are fast moving and frequently destructive. But more on that later after we've had time to recover.
The power was off at home from about 9:20 last night till 10:35 this morning. My Wunderground graphs show a slightly shorter outage thanks to my UPS (battery backup). Fortunately the data was captured by a battery powered logger so my station web site didn't lose a minute.
We've still got lots of storm damage to clean up. We lost one 40 foot Cottonwood tree and lots of limbs. Hopefully it'll all get done over the next couple of days. But first - a shower! What luxury!
