Oh my Blizz, that flooding looks pretty bad. And you just planted. Let us know how you made out.

We were thankfully spared major flooding though we did get steady rain in the afternoon. The clouds are moving very quickly overhead this morning with lots of fingers coming down (for lack of a more scientific word). There's no rotation. The sun pops ut every now and then for a minute or two, then the dark clouds take over. I do hope we don't get anything severe here. Fast moving low dark clouds make me nervous. Those poor souls that got hammered with the tornadoes, such a widespread tragedy.

Shopping for Easter dinner. I would like to plan on grilling but quite honestly don't know what to plan for. It's not like Memorial Day when you know it will be warm enough though it may be wet.

thanks they have been posting my observations since I became a cocorahs member

the Cocorahs rain gauge just seems like the funnel might not be able to handle downpours that are more in the 5 plus of rain. It wasn't that far off of the Davis rain gauge.

Hmm, that spot has reached major stage only twice, 1972 & 1975.

Beautiful day today, right under 60F

Can we send some of the rain towards Texas? I think they need it much more than we do...

Isn't that the way the weather works for the United States....some areas get too much rain and others can't get a drop of rain.

Streams are still full and flowing fast for the area. I am still waiting for my gardens to dry enough to till.

Some low 30's for highs and snow showers today just off the coastal plain of Lake Erie in northwest PA and western NY. Yikes! Low to mid 60's at the opposite corner of PA.

Could nip at 80F up to the PA TPK Wednesday. Mid-80's up to Maryland.

Officially had 4-4.5" from the last system. From northern NJ into the Hudson Valley really got it good. Was down in northern NJ yesterday and all the creeks are at maximum clipping the undersides of all the bridges.

Flooding still persists along the Passaic river and in Wayne NJ - where well it's always flooded during large events.

So much urbanization around the Passaic, rain just runs right into it.

More rain just what we don't really need. Of more concern is that the end of the week warmup looks to be a lot less now since this stationary front set up a little further south than first anticipated. We'll still be on the cold side when the system departs now instead of the warm side.

Instead of 70s I will be getting 50s Thurs/Fri. 60s Sat-Mon. Rain again Fri Night/Sat.

Say it ain't so! I'm getting seriously tired of chilly weather. A boring warm and dry spell would be welcome about now.

Have been watching TWC tonight, Have to admit they've been doing a good job this evening, tracking the tornadic weather in the Mid-West. St. Louis was just under the gun, now severe storms heading towards Indianappolis. They are not showing those silly pre-canned shows, and other boring features they now usually have on. Instead they have on Jim Cantore and Dr. Greg Forbes tracking the storms almost continually. Good job tonight.

An unexpectedly intense thunderstorm with a strong hail core (71dbz reflectivity & 50 kg/m^2 VIL) is heading through Blair county right now. Severe thunderstorm warning until 9:45.

LT- I've also noticed that TWC's coverage has improved dramatically this year. They've had several people placed in the field during these outbreaks which they didn't do in past years.

I don't think a single sprinkle fell in that watch box. I'm still at 78.7F at 7:37pm. Shorts, T-shirt and bare feet on the back porch. Feels nice...

Temperatures range from upper 30's to low 80's in Pennsylvania at 6pm. That's like the difference between January and June.

Is anyone willing to venture a guess a to when this wet pattern is going to change or should I be investing in a pontoon boat? Are we still in La Nina?

The 12z GFS is plotting an almost unbelievable 5.09" 16-day QPF for KPIT. Given what seems to be a weakening La Nina we should start to get drier in June if not the later half of May.

Wink 104 is reporting sleet on Peters Mountain. That seems possible given that the freezing level is only about 3000ft right now.

Just 41F and rain here in the valleys. The temperature has been dropping slowly all day.
