Lamb Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Ice Storm Warning
Statement as of 06:21 PM CST del 26 novembre 2015

... Ice Storm Warning remains in effect from midnight tonight to
6 PM CST Saturday...

* timing... rain is expected to develop today with rain mixing
with or changing to freezing rain as temperatures fall early
Friday morning. The threat of freezing rain will continue into
Saturday. Some sleet and snow will likely mix in across the
far southwestern Panhandle and northern South Plains in this
same time frame.

* Main impact... one quarter to one half inch of freezing rain will
accumulate on trees... power lines... bridges... and other elevated
surfaces. Locally higher accumulations are possible. Most roads
will initially remain warm enough to prevent ice... but will
likely develop ice throughout the day on Friday as temperatures
hold at or below freezing.

* Other impacts... significant ice accumulations could result in
power outages and Road closures. Plan for alternative means of
keeping warm which do not rely upon commercial power. Also very
low wind chills Friday morning are expected with values in the
teens... with single digit wind chills possible over the
southwestern Panhandle.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice can make travel
impossible. If you must travel... bring an extra flashlight...
food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Widespread power outages often accompany ice storms. Ensure
backup generators operate properly.
